Bowdon Earls vs Fylde – NWF 14 pt Handicap League – 15th August

The Earls hosted Fylde in this week’s 14 pt Handicap League. This proved to be a tough match for Captain Charles Fraser and his team of Phil Thompson, Andrew Jenkins and Alison Acton. Fylde are currently top of the League whilst the Earls are in the leagues strongest position ie at the bottom holding everyone else up! However, still a few games to go and beating Fylde would be a good starting point.

Fylde’s team was Betty Bates (8), Benedict O’Connor (14), Barry Broughton (14) and Alison Broughton (18). As you might expect from the league leaders they were just a bit too strong for Bowdon, running out 7 – 3 winners. Tough luck for the Earls but good experience for those team members playing their first league game for the club.
