Golf Croquet Sessions

There will be weekly golf croquet Come and Play sessions on Wednesdays, from 3.15 to 6.30, starting on 14th August. Please come along, whatever your handicap, whether you are an expert, a team member or a beginner. Golf croquet is a sociable game, and gives practice at hoop running, hitting in, and strategy. It is a good game for cold weather, as you keep active, and the games are usually short. If you can’t make the whole session, come for as long as you can. You can register on the booking system.

We also plan to have some intermediate coaching sessions soon.

Taster Sessions

Please forward the notification of these Taster Sessions to your local WhatsApp groups of any friends or family you think may be interested in playing croquet.

We are running further Taster Sessions from Friday 17th May for anyone who would like to try out the game of croquet and hopefully decide to join the club as new members.

For £20 per person you will get two 3.5 hour sessions run by qualified coaches covering the basic skills of the game. You get full use of the equipment and facilities and free tea and coffee. The first session covers the basic skills and the second session covers the rules and strategy of the game.

The sessions will be most Fridays at 9.45am to 1.15pm as part of the Freshers Fridays sessions. There will be occasional Fridays when the lawns are unavailable owing to tournaments. If you can’t make Friday mornings please let us know and we will try to arrange a convenient time.

Bowdon is one of the oldest clubs in the country (we celebrated our 150 years anniversary last year) and has one of the best sets of lawns in the NorthWest.  Croquet is an enjoyable, sociable game that can be played by people of any age and of either sex. We have members who just enjoy a social game  and also top quality International who enjoy the competitive challenge.
