The GC handicap team welcomed our neighbours, Bury North, to Bowdon on Wednesday 2nd September, in the NWF Handicap GC League. Our team was: Margaret Moss – Captain (12), Philip Thompson (9), Brian Jolly (9) and Carol Steinberg (10). Bury North’s team was Bernard Lord (4), Duncan Meachin (5), David Parrott (8) and Dawn Meachin (10).
The handicap team expected to be wet and bedraggled in their last match of the season. In the event, it just drizzled, and the team enjoyed the challenge of playing against a tough but friendly opposition. Bury North won by 14 – 5. The day was concluded with some choral singing from the combined teams.
