Bowdon Weekdayers hosted Llanfairfechan on Friday 29th August in the NWF Short league. The Weekdayers team was: Alan Mayne – Captain (4p), Ken Cooper (2p), Charles Harding (2p), Mike Dale (9). Llanfairfechan’s team was: James Thomas (1p), Sarah Andrew (6), Jane Turner (6) and Elaine Crook (10).
The first session was even handed, with both teams winning two matches. Bowdon came out strong for the next session winning all 4 games. Lunchtime had the Weekdayers in a fairly comfortable 6 – 2 lead, needing 4 out of the remains games to take the match. The afternoon sessions were shared and the Weekdayers ran out 10 – 6 winners.
In doing so, they won the NWF short league, many congratulations Weekdayers. Who now get a place in next years CqE Inter-Club short competition. Well done team.
