The Midweek B-Level AC Tournament was held on 17th & 18th June at Bowdon. The competition is for CqE members with handicaps between 8 and 0 with the winner holding the Sheila Back Trophy for the year. Six Bowdon members took part: Charles Harding, Brian Medley, Alan Dix, Robert Essler, Adrian Apps with Nigel Matthews standing in to make up even numbers.
The lawns were in excellent condition, thanks to the ground staff, and the tournament expertly managed by Lorna Frost.
The finalists were Paul Harbord (0) and Adrian Apps (3). On a lovely sunny day Paul needed only 2 games to win the best of 3 games and the Sheila Black Salver.
