Jack won the Shield competition in the AC European Singles Championship, held at Dublin. In the final he beat Gabrielle Higgins, 2 – 1, as described in full below. The picture (photo by Graham Good) shows Gabrielle and Jack shortly after the prize giving.
Jack played well in his group but failed to win his final game which meant that he could not go into the Main Draw. Jack’s group results are shown below.
Jack then continued into the Shield competition, which eventually included the losing quarter finalists from the Main Draw. Jack did very well as shown in the results below. After winning the first game in the final, Gabrielle was 23 points up in the second but missed her rover peel. Jack took advantage to win 26tp-23. The final game saw Jack with the 1st break. Gabrielle hit in but Jack hit in on her leave and finished for a 26tp-11 win. The Shield competition results are shown below. Well done Jack.
