Bowdon Earls lost at Westmorland in CNW 14pt league, 8th July

Bowdon Earls travelled to Levens Hall on Monday to play Westmorland in the Croquet North West 14pt handicap league. They enjoyed the delightful setting in the gardens of Levens Hall, and it was a lovely sunny day. All good so far. Unfortunately, the games of croquet did not go so well and the Earls lost by 6 – 10. Earls did achieve something of a come-back in the afternoon games, which they won 5-3, but their 1-7 morning result pretty much sealed their fate. Cas had the most fun, winning 3 of her 4 games. This defeat leaves Earls firmly rooted at the bottom of the league with 3 losses from 3 matches, tied with Fylde. Ah well, the only way is up.
