The rain was less troublesome than expected. A few brief showers in the morning and a short one in the afternoon were not too bad. Chester made us very welcome, as always, and now provide a gazebo next to the lawns to keep players dry during rain. That was much appreciated. The morning saw Bowdon go into a 2 – 1 lead. Wins for Alan and Charles in the doubles, and a comeback win by Dave in his singles put us ahead. John lost his morning singles. In the afternoon singles, Alan had a straightforward win, whilst Dave and Charles both won from behind in the last few minutes of their games, to give Bowdon victory in the match. John lost his afternoon singles, but enjoyed driving and ate plenty of biscuits.

The Bowdon team was:

Chester’s team was Mark LLoyd 0.5, David Boyd 5, Helen Brophy 9 and Sally Slater 14.
