Bowdon’s Short croquet team in the North West Federation League suffered another defeat this season, at home to Fylde on an extremely hot Sunday 11th June. The final score was 4 – 12 to Fylde. Bowdon’s team was:

John beat Betty and Ian and lost to Lee and Jan
Gordon beat Betty and lost to Lee, Phil and Jan
Cas blames the heat. I suppose that a Blackpool located team might be more used to seaside-style sunshine than Bowdon players. Well that is one explanation. Perhaps there should be sauna based training sessions before future matches.
