Bowdon beat Chester, at Bowdon, 6-1 on a very wet Sunday, in the North West Federation Weekend Handicap AC League on 24 July. The rain was quite light in the morning but became heavy in the afternoon, with the final hour being particularly demanding. This win pushed Bowdon into third place in the League table, now that we have won 2 matches out of 3. The Bowdon team was:
