15 members of Bowdon took part in the Southport Festival of Croquet over the weekend of 14th-15th August. The club entered teams for Level Play AC, Handicap AC, Level Play GC and Handicap GC. Over the weekend the weather was reasonably dry with only a spot of light rain providing an enjoyable 2 days of, mainly, close fought matches with the other NW Federation clubs.
Bowdon won the Level Play GC and ended third in the overall tournament. The winning GC team were Jack Good, Colin Irwin and Will Mellor. We also won the award for the best dressed player – Brian Storey was outstanding in club colours of orange.
