Australia won the MacRoberson Shield with England as Runners-up

The MacRobertson Shield is the top tier of the World Croquet Federation's World Team Championship. Australia, England, New Zealand and the United States of America compete for this coverted trophy. The World Team Championship is the Olympics of Association Croquet. It is played every three or four years in one of the competing countries. In 2017, the MacRobertson Shield was played from 18th April to 4th May at the Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California, USA.
The England team comprised Samir Patel (Captain), Jamie Burch, James Death, James Hopgood, Stephen Mulliner and Bowdon's David Maugham.
