Due to late withdrawals, there are now 2 vacancies for the Championship so, if any Bowdon player would like to enter, then please contact David Walters or Ian Lines asap.
A big thank you to those who have offered to help out by doing the lunches and teas at the forthcoming championship, the biggest event in Bowdon's calendar. However, there are still a few vacancies for tea duty and it would be very much appreciated if some volunteers could come forward, please.
Whilst on the subject of teas, there are still a number of Saturdays with vacancies on the Tea Rota shown in the clubhouse and on the link above. Please sign up on the notice board
if you are able to help on any dates not yet taken.

INTERNAL COMPETITIONS

Many Internal Competition matches are well behind schedule, especially in the Silver Plate and Level Play Golf.

Please try and get all outstanding matches played, so the competitions can progress, and get completed this year, before the weather deteriorates.

If your match is going to be late, agree a date with your opponent and mark it on the board, likewise if you are going to be away, arrange a date with your opponent, before you go, don't wait til you get back.

If you are having particular difficulties arranging a match, contact me.

Steve Reynolds

Welcome to Bowdon Croquet Club 2017...

...where croquet is played on most days of the year.

We are a thriving active club and welcome new members (see New Members section for an application form or just come and visit).

The club has room for four superb full size lawns maintained to a high standard providing first class playing facilities to all members.

A six-week beginners' coaching course is held every summer from May into June, at a cost of around 35.
Bowdon members who joined during the last year can also attend, if they so desire, free of charge.
To book, or for more details, please contact Charles on 0161 980 6419. Coaching is also available free on a one-to-one basis at all times.

The 2017 croquet season runs from late March until October when three full size lawns and two short lawns are laid out.
Limited play is permitted during the winter months.

Bowdon hosts several Croquet Association tournaments and internationals each year.
In 2017 these are:

The May Handicap Weekend (April/May)
The June Advanced Weekend
The Northern Week (July)
The North of England Championship (August)
The September 'B' Level Weekend

Spectators are welcome at all these events.

The club was founded in 1873 and has been located on the present site since 1911.
The club is affiliated to the Croquet Association and the North-West of England Federation.
